Romans 12:1-2
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
Central truth is that, God transforms us through His Spirit as we surrender our lives and renew our minds, so that the character of Christ becomes visible through us.
“There is a difference between being delivered from a place and being delivered from the thinking that place produced in you.”
Israel came out of Egypt, yet Egypt continued to influence their desires. “Their feet were moving toward the promised land, but their thoughts repeatedly returned to the house of bondage.”
They had witnessed the sea open, yet struggled to believe that God could provide food. They had seen Pharaoh defeated, yet trembled before the giants. Their circumstances had changed dramatically, but their understanding of God still needed to grow.
This is one of the great challenges of the Christian life. You can enter a new season while carrying an old way of thinking.
You can receive an opportunity and interpret it through yesterday’s rejection. You can receive responsibility and approach it with the fear of your former failures. You can belong to Christ and still allow the world to shape your judgments.
But the Lord calls us beyond outward adjustment. He calls us to transformation.
God’s purpose reaches deeper than a change of address, appearance, vocabulary, or church attendance. His purpose is that Christ should be formed in us.
He wants our thoughts brought into agreement with His truth, our desires shaped by His love, and our bodies surrendered to His service.
The glory of God is revealed through a life that increasingly resembles the Son of God.
Today, bring more than your requests before the Lord. Bring your reasoning. Bring your imagination. Bring your ambitions. Bring the convictions you have never allowed Him to question.
Let this become your prayer :
“Father, wherever my thinking contradicts Your Word, renew me. Wherever my desires resist Your will, reshape me. Wherever my life conceals the character of Jesus, transform me for Your glory.” in Jesus’ name.
Amen!

Transformed For His Glory-Part 2

Transformation begins with the mercies of God
Paul begins:
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God…”
The word “therefore” connects this appeal to what Paul has already taught about sin, justification, grace, life in the Spirit, and God’s mercy.
Paul does not begin with, “Make yourself worthy of God’s love.” He appeals to believers on the basis of mercy already received.
We surrender because God has shown us mercy.
This matters because fear can produce temporary compliance, while a deep understanding of mercy awakens grateful devotion.
When you understand what Christ has done for you, obedience becomes your response to His love.
Consider Zacchaeus in Luke 19:1-10. His encounter with Jesus produced a new relationship with money. The man who had taken from others began speaking about generosity and restitution.
Grace reached his heart, and his conduct followed.
Mercy is the foundation of surrender.
The grace that receives you also teaches you to live differently. A true encounter with Jesus reaches the things you once refused to release.
“Has your understanding of God’s mercy changed the way you treat people, handle money, and make decisions?”
God wants you to present your body. Transformation requires embodied surrender
Paul continues:
“…that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God…”
Your body is the means through which many of your decisions become actions.
“Your mouth speaks. Your hands serve. Your feet carry you. Your eyes attend to things. Your daily habits give expression to what you value.”
Therefore, surrender cannot remain an inward feeling. “A surrendered heart must become a surrendered life.”
The root word translated “reasonable service,” point to reasonable or spiritual worship and service to God. Apostle Paul presents the offering of our lives as a fitting response to His mercy.
Worship includes singing, but it also reaches Monday morning, private conversations, business dealings, and the use of our time.
You cannot meaningfully say, “Lord, take my life,” while continually refusing Him authority over your choices.
The burnt offering is a picture of wholehearted devotion
In Leviticus 1, the Hebrew word ‘olah names the burnt offering. The passage describes the offering being consumed on the altar, providing a powerful picture of comprehensive devotion to God.
We should remember that Christ’s sacrifice is sufficient for our redemption. Our surrender does not purchase forgiveness. It is our response to the One who redeemed us.
Romans 12 calls us living sacrifices: people who continue living, working, relating, and serving under God’s authority.
Pray:
“Lord, my mind belongs to You. My mouth belongs to You. My ambitions belong to You. My relationships belong to You. My resources belong to You.”
Prayer Of Salvation:
You must be born again to enjoy your victory in Jesus Christ. Please do pray the prayer below.
“Lord Jesus, Please come into my life. I accept You as my Lord and Personal Saviour. I believe in my heart You died and rose from the dead to save me. Please forgive and cleanse me. Thank You for loving me, even me, in Jesus name I pray. Amen.”
